You will come up with 2 rough sketches on you pizza pie template
One design will feature a theme of your choice. this could be a specific sport, interest or hobby that you enjoy, or perhaps something about your background or heritage.
The other design will feature an abstract theme. This means that you will use shapes, such as squares, triangles, and circles (geometric) and also organic shapes such as irregular shapes or flowing lines.
Each design be sure to include shapes that are small, medium, and large to create variety. Try out placing partial shapes at the edge of the template. Things will look interesting when the image is flipped over and over and mirrored on your final circle.
Once you have two designs, you will meet with Ms Bowyer and discuss the strengths of each. You may blend them and come up with a third. Once you have it drawn out you will choose a colour harmony for your final project. Monochromatic, complementary, analogous, split-complementary, triadic, warm/cool colours
You will use the large circle template to trace your good copy onto bristol board .Once you have finished your design, you will draw it onto tracing paper. Turn the tracing paper upside down and trace it again. As you apply pressure, your pencil marks will transfer onto your bristol board for your good copy.
Don't worry we will demonstrate this in class.
The final design will be painted according to the colour harmony you have choosen. You must choose a colour harmony! All the colours of the rainbow is not choosing.
